If you are evaluating the 2″ Lucid by LinenSpa Ventilated Memory Foam Mattress Topper, you’ve come to the right place. Here are is my video review of the Lucid Memory Foam Mattress Topper
The idea behind memory foam is that it conforms to your body, and helps alleviate pressure points. It has risen in popularity, but not everyone is a fan. First off, many people claim that they get hot when they sleep on memory foam because of how it conforms to you. I can say that depending on which mattress or memory foam mattress topper that you use, this overheating will vary. Some are certainly more ventilated than others, and the Lucid 2 inch topper is a good example of this. They call it ‘open cell’ construction, but you’ll notice the ventilation built in. This makes a difference that you’ll notice, especially if you’ve slept on memory foam before and felt hot and sweaty. This product addresses that issue and is still worth a look, assuming you like the feel of sleeping on memory foam in general.
The second common gripe you may hear about memory foam is that it stinks, literally. Again that has so many variables, but definitely the Lucid topper has that foam smell when you first take it out of the box. However, if you open it up and let it sit out for a couple of days before putting it on your bed, the smell is virtually non-existent. If you are super sensitive to smells, you may still notice it, but we didn’t find it bothersome at all and rather faint after a couple days. Letting it sit out also allows the foam to expand, so don’t be concerned when you un-box this and find it to be thinner than 2 inches – it will get there. Moral of the story – let it breathe a little for a couple days before putting it on your mattress!
The Lucid Memory Foam Mattress Topper feels somewhat firm, but the density of the product speaks to its quality. You certainly won’t sink right through this and be essentially laying on your regular mattress. You’ll sink in as you should with memory foam, but you’ll probably agree that it adds a fairly firm layer beneath you. You can decide if that is good or bad for your situation. Only being 2 inches thick, it shouldn’t affect the sheets you use on your bed currently. Most likely your current fitted sheets will still work, so you shouldn’t need to buy any new accessories to accommodate this addition.
The product does offer a 3 year warranty, but we can’t say how well they back it up since we haven’t used it. However, at the price it isn’t like you are sinking a huge investment into the product to start with, which makes it a good value if this is what you are looking for.
